Hana is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. She is known for her self-titled 2016 EP, and for her frequent work with musician Grimes.

She was partly raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and Billings, Montana.

Hana’s paternal grandfather was Ashbury F. Pestle (the son of Hobert William Pestle and Lucille Mae Barclay). Ashbury was born in Chicago, Illinois. Hobert was born in Macomb, Illinois and was of English, Irish, German, Northern Irish, Scottish, French, and 1/32 Seneca Native American descent. The surname Pestle was originally spelled Pethtel and originated from Hessel, Germany. Lucille was born in Austin, Minnesota and was of English, Scottish, Northern Irish, Irish, Welsh, German, Swiss, Dutch, and French descent.

Hana’s paternal grandmother was Ingeborg Hild (the daughter of Johann Hild and Johanna Viehweger). Ingebord was born in Salzburg, Austria.

Hana’s maternal grandfather was James O’Leary Hood, Jr. (the son of James O’Leary Hood and Bess Alma Beasley). James was born in Lawton, Oklahoma. His father James was born in Stephens, Texas, and was of English, Dutch, French, Belgian, Welsh, Scots-Irish, Scottish, German, and Swiss descent, as well as distant Sephardic Jewish from Catalonia.
