Diana Muldaur is an American actress. Her roles include the films The Swimmer (1968), Number One (1969), The Lawyer (1970), One More Train to Rob, The Other (1972), McQ, Chosen Survivors, and Beyond Reason (1977); the made-for-tv movies Call to Danger, Planet Earth (1974), Pine Canyon Is Burning, The Miracle Worker (1979), Murder in Three Acts, and Locked Up: A Mother’s Rage; and the series The Doctors, The Secret Storm, Dr. Kildare, Star Trek: The Original Series, The Survivors, The Virginian, The F.B.I., Hawaii Five-O, Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law; Mannix, Born Free, McCloud, The Tony Randall Show, Insight, The Word, Police Story, Hizzonner, The Incredible Hulk, Fitz and Bones, Quincy M.E., Hart to Hart, A Year in the Life, Star Trek: The Next Generation, L.A. Her brother is singer, guitarist, and composer Geoff Muldaur; from whom his former wife, folk and blues singer Maria Muldaur, gets her surname. Diana was married to actor James Vickery, until his death; and then to writer and producer Robert Dozier, until his death. Her nieces are singers and songwriter Jenni Muldaur and Clare Muldaur-Manchon, the latter of pop band Clare & the Reasons.
Diana’s paternal grandfather was George Burton Muldaur (the son of Alonzo Washington Muldaur and Elizabeth Helen Sayre). George was born in Delaware. Alonzo was a Lieutenant Commander of the U.S. Navy. He was executive officer in command of the Oneida on Janunry 24, 1870, when It was sunk as the result of a collision with British warship Bombay, in Yokohama Bay. He was the son of John Mauritz/Maurice Muldaur/Muldaurowizch, a Polish immigrant; and of Mary Munger Lamb, who had deep American roots. Diana’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of Linford Sayre and Orphelia.
Diana’s paternal grandmother was Caroline Theodora Southmayd (the daughter of John Adams Southmayd and Ellen Wilson Dayton). Caroline was born in New Jersey, and had deep roots in the U.S. John was the son of Henry Southmayd and Clarissa Warner. Ellen was the daughter of Thompson Stelle Dayton and Eleanor Arrowsmith Wilson.
Diana’s maternal grandfather was William Charlton Jones (the son of Thomas Edward Jones and Matilda Mary Ann Charlton). William was born in Cork, Ireland. Thomas was English, born in St. Pancras, Middlesex. Matilda was Canadian, the daughter of Henry Charlton, who was an English immigrant; and of Harriet Tryon Collins/Collings, whose father was Cornish, and whose mother was Irish.
Diana’s maternal grandmother was Susan Coleman Brown (the daughter of George Brown and Anna Coleman). Susan was born in Keyport, New Jersey, to English parents.
