Brian Altemus is an American actor and model. His roles include the shows Grand Army, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Harlan Coben’s Shelter, and Brilliant Minds.

Brian’s paternal grandfather is Barry C. Hamilton (the son of Hugh Lloyd Hamilton and Anne Henderson Bowen). Barry was born in Pennsylvania, and had partly deep American roots. Hugh was the son of Samuel Harbert Hamilton and Miriam Hilda Calvert, whose father was English, and whose maternal grandparents were Irish. Brian’s great-grandmother Anne was the daughter of Clement Remington Bowen, whose maternal grandparents were Irish; and of Ilda Mae Naglee.

Brian’s paternal grandmother is Lois Merlin (the daughter of Albert Abraham Merlin and Sylvia J. Ronis). Lois was born in Pennsylvania. Albert was born in Liverpool, England, to Russian Jewish parents, Meshse B. “Morris” Merlin and Gitel “Gertrude” Swartzman. Sylvia was born in Pennsylvania, also to Russian Jewish parents, Joseph Ronis and Bessie Zigmund.

Brian’s maternal grandfather is Lawrence Robert Altemus (the son of Albert Willis Altemus and Lucina Anna Herman). Lawrence was born in Pennsylvania, and had deep roots in the U.S. Albert was the son of Willis Altemus and Ellen Cobb. Lucina was the daughter of Gilbert Arthur Herman and Florence Stoll.

Brian’s maternal grandmother is Dorothy M. McVeigh (the daughter of Joseph Daniel McVeigh and Dorothy Margaret Curran). Brian’s grandmother Dorothy was born in Pennsylvania. Joseph was the son of Irish immigrants, John McVeigh and Mary Ivory. Brian’s great-grandmother Dorothy was the daughter of Joseph James Curran, whose parents were Irish; and of Ellen M. “Nellie” Sprows, whose father had deep American roots, and whose mother was Irish.
