Welcome to ESLBuzz. Before you dig into the guides, tools, and word lists on this site, please take a few minutes to read these Terms of Service. They’re written in plain English (we are an English learning site, after all) so you can understand exactly what you agree to when you use ESLBuzz.
If anything below isn’t clear, email legal@eslbuzz.com and a member of our editorial team will explain in plainer words.
The Short Version
- Use the site freely for personal study and reference — that’s why we built it.
- Don’t republish or sell our content as if it were yours. We allow short quotes with a link back.
- We’re a learning resource, not certification. ESLBuzz cannot officially assess your English level.
- We provide content “as is” — no warranty that every example is perfect. We fix errors when readers spot them.
- Vietnamese law governs disputes, but we always try to resolve issues by email first.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ESLBuzz (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site. We may update these Terms occasionally; the “Last updated” date above always reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
2. About the Service
ESLBuzz publishes free educational content about the English language: articles, vocabulary lists, grammar explanations, exam preparation guides, and interactive tools (word finder, verb conjugator, pronunciation practice, sentence analyzer, image gallery). The Site is a self-study reference. We do not:
- Issue official certificates or proof of English proficiency
- Provide one-on-one tutoring or graded coursework
- Guarantee specific exam scores
- Replace formal education or professional language assessment
3. Permitted Use
You may use ESLBuzz for personal, non-commercial study and reference. This includes:
- Reading articles and guides for your own learning
- Using the interactive tools to practice English
- Sharing links to specific articles on social media or in messages
- Citing short excerpts (up to 100 words) in academic work or your own articles, with attribution and a link back to the source
- Linking to ESLBuzz pages from your own website, blog, or classroom materials
- Printing individual pages for personal study or classroom handouts (please keep the ESLBuzz attribution visible)
4. Restricted Use
The following activities require our prior written permission and may otherwise constitute copyright infringement:
- Republishing full articles on another website, blog, or platform
- Translating articles into other languages and publishing them
- Compiling our content into ebooks, courses, or paid materials
- Using ESLBuzz content to train AI/machine learning models
- Using our brand name, logo, or visual assets in a way that suggests ESLBuzz endorses your product
- Scraping the site automatically (beyond standard search engine crawlers)
- Hot-linking our images or assets to display on other sites
For licensing inquiries — including non-profit educational use, classroom curriculum integration, or translation projects — email partnerships@eslbuzz.com. We’re generally supportive of educational reuse and our licensing terms are reasonable.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on ESLBuzz — including articles, guides, illustrations, code for interactive tools, design elements, and the ESLBuzz name and logo — is the intellectual property of ESLBuzz or its contributors, protected under Vietnamese and international copyright law.
Some content may be licensed from third parties (illustrations, dictionary references, etc.). Where applicable, we credit the original source within the article. Third-party trademarks (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are referenced for educational purposes only — ESLBuzz is not affiliated with or endorsed by these organizations.
6. Affiliate Disclosure
Transparency note: Some links on ESLBuzz are affiliate links. If you click and purchase a recommended book or service, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we (or our contributing teachers) have personally vetted. Affiliate income helps keep ESLBuzz free.
Where we recommend a paid product, we will indicate the relationship clearly within the article. We never accept payment to write a positive review, and we will not recommend a product just because there’s a commission attached. If a recommended resource later disappoints us, we update or remove the recommendation.
7. Advertising
ESLBuzz displays advertisements served by third-party ad networks (currently Google AdSense and Mediavine partners, depending on the page). Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. We do not control the specific ads served and we do not endorse advertised products. If you encounter an ad that violates our standards (deceptive, inappropriate for ESL learners, etc.), please email hello@eslbuzz.com with the ad details and we’ll report it.
8. User-Generated Content
ESLBuzz currently does not host comments, forums, or user accounts. If we add any user-input feature in the future (comments, contact forms, contribution submissions), the following will apply:
- You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant us a non-exclusive license to display, edit, and publish it on ESLBuzz
- You agree not to submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or infringes third-party rights
- We may moderate, edit, or remove user content at our discretion
- By submitting questions or feedback, you accept that we may use the question (anonymized if you prefer) to improve future articles
9. Accuracy & Disclaimer
We work hard to keep ESLBuzz accurate, current, and useful. Every article goes through a fact-check by qualified ESL teachers, and test-prep guides are reviewed annually. However:
- The Site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied
- English is a living language with regional variations; what’s correct in formal British English may differ in casual American English. We try to flag these but cannot cover every variant
- Test structures (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge) change occasionally; always verify current details on the official exam provider’s website before booking
- Pronunciation practice using your browser’s speech recognition is approximate and not equivalent to a human teacher’s assessment
- Recommendations for external services (apps, books, schools) reflect our current opinion and are not guarantees of quality
If you find an error, please tell us at editors@eslbuzz.com. We typically correct verified errors within five working days.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ESLBuzz, its contributors, and its operators are not liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site
- Decisions you make based on Site content (e.g., choosing which exam to take, applying for a visa, accepting a job)
- Test results, exam scores, or admission outcomes
- Errors, omissions, or outdated information in articles
- Service interruptions, lost data, or downtime
- Issues caused by third-party services (ad networks, analytics, hosting providers)
If a court holds any provision of this section unenforceable, our maximum aggregate liability to you is limited to USD $50 or the equivalent. Some jurisdictions don’t allow exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities — in that case, the relevant exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by your local law.
11. External Links
ESLBuzz links to external resources (dictionaries, exam websites, news sources, recommended apps). We do not control the content or practices of those external sites and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement.
12. Children’s Use
ESLBuzz is suitable for English learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Site has no user accounts, no comments, and no features that require children to share data. If a child uses the Site for self-study, no registration is required and no personal data is requested.
For more details on how we handle privacy in general, see our Privacy Policy.
13. Termination
We may suspend or restrict access to the Site (in whole or in part) for technical maintenance, security reasons, or — in rare cases — if a specific user violates these Terms (e.g., scraping, abusive contact). We have no obligation to provide advance notice for technical maintenance.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days following the update. Continued use of ESLBuzz after changes means you accept the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith email negotiation will be addressed in the courts of Hanoi, Vietnam.
However, we always prefer email-based resolution. If you believe ESLBuzz has acted unreasonably, please write to legal@eslbuzz.com with the specifics. We’ll respond within ten working days and try to find a fair outcome.
