Chasing Bucky, always a step behind, Steve remembers the cycle of seasons that took him from the raw and naive young man to the Captain America who led the Howling Commandos into hell and, except for Bucky, out again. I only started about a month ago and am already in season 4 and it seems that I have developed quite a crush on both Charlie Francis and especially Lincoln Lee. In every universe.

It doesn't quite tie into the canon events, but suspend your disbelief for a moment and pretend that it's a missing scene before Willow's vision of the Hellmouth. Well, missing scenes, really.

Ist das ernsthaft das Bild, was "Mann" von sich projizieren möchte? Wäre der Umkehrschluss also, daß Frauen nur noch hochgeschlossen herumlaufen dürfen? WARUM; VERDAMMT NOCH MAL?

Eine sehr gute Zusammenfassung findet sich in einem Kommentar von einem Herren namens Robert zu einem ansonsten unsäglichen Artikel:
" Jedoch finde ich das jeder der einen anderen Menschen anspricht auf die Reaktionen seines Gegenübers achten sollte. Tomorrow is the posting date for my Lewis summer challenge contribution.

I wonder how many people will give it a wide berth just at the characters. Well, one character.

It'll be an interesting experiment, finding out how many people will be interested in reading about one of the most-hated female characters in the fandom AND if they'll be willing to read an introductory chapter to a long fic (the wifey is on board, the file now has 23 k. It had about 20 or 21 k before she came aboard, so you can see she's going in strong!), even if it's a definite stand-alone.

Ah, well. I shall find out tomorrow, hm?

So, in case you didn't know, today (well, yesterday for those in Europe) is a very special person’s birthday:

And, in true Hobbit fashion, she doesn't expect gifts, no, she's the one giving them.

Auburn has posted her new story, Intelligent Designs.

And what a story it is. Magnificent, superb, sweeping, engaging, touching, thrilling, smart, witty, snarky and just sparkling with love for the characters.

In true Auburn fashion, it's not just any old story, it's a crossover between Fringe, White Collar and Chuck. No, you're not reading that wrong. You think that sounds unlikely? So did I when I first heard her talking about it, but, remember, this is Auburn, and if anyone can make this work, it's her. And, boy, does she make this work. I had the joy of watching it grow, and the more it grew, the more excited I got about the time it'd be finished. Now it is, and, oh, what a ride it is!

Her summary tells you what to expect: "David Robert Jones wants the Intersect and Neal Caffrey is the thief he'll use to get it."

The cast is huge, and yet she manages to deal with all of them without forgetting anyone. The characters are wonderfully human, and though I know next to nothing about Fringe, those characters in particular felt well-rounded to me.
The story itself is Auburn's speciality, the heady blend of drama, action, angst (come one, you know Auburn, she's the queen of well-written angst), hurt/comfort and horror.
It's science fiction. It has government experiments,clones, mad science and espionage.

But most of all, it has engaging characters, characters you care about and a plot that will have your heart in your throat until the very end.

It's a truly outstanding story.

So, what are you waiting for? You know you want to read it. And leave her feedback, of course. :o)
