THEMATIC CHALLENGES

Through stakeholder surveys Engage 2 identifies critical thematic challenges in ATM and related areas. These challenges aim to address operational gaps not currently targeted by existing SESAR research projects, prioritise funding and promote PhDs.

SUPPORT TO PHD

Engage 2 fosters the growth of a community of early stage researchers in Europe, dedicated to advancing the state of the art in ATM. Engage 2 provides financial support to ten PhDs. Summer schools and presentations of research progress (at Engage 2 events, SIDs and ATM seminars) provide opportunities for early stage researchers to mature their ideas and research directions.

SUPPORT TO MSC STUDENTS

Engage 2 aids master’s students in developing innovative research proposals in collaboration with university supervisors and facilitates industry contacts for potential internships, if the thesis format allows. Selected students may receive limited travel bursaries for Engage 2 activities.

CATALYST FUNDS

Catalyst funding fast-tracks specific activities in support of developing solutions to the thematic challenges and moving closer towards industry goals and objectives, plus towards higher TRLs. 16 catalyst fund projects receive a maximum of €60k each.

Open Consultations

OPEN CONSULTATIONS

Engage 2 carries out consultation with industry and research stakeholders: collaborating with these entities is fundamental to comprehensively consider various themes in the ATM domain and ensuring the project’s overall success.
