Once you've created products in your WooCommerce store, effectively managing them is crucial for maintaining an organized and up-to-date online shop. This guide will cover the essential tasks for managing your existing products.
Accessing Your Products
- Log in to your WordPress Dashboard: Go to
example.com/wp-admin. - Navigate to Products: In the left-hand sidebar, hover over "WooCommerce" and click on "Products." This will take you to the "All Products" list, where you can see all your active, draft, and trashed products.
Key Management Tasks
Editing Product Details
You can edit product details in two main ways: Quick Edit and Full Edit.
Quick Edit:
- On the "All Products" page, hover over the product you wish to edit.
- Click the "Quick Edit" link that appears below the product name.
- A condensed editing panel will appear, allowing you to quickly change common fields like title, slug, date, status, categories, tags, price, SKU, stock status, and more.
- Click "Update" to save your changes. This is ideal for minor adjustments without loading the full product editor.
Full Edit:
- On the "All Products" page, hover over the product you wish to edit.
- Click the product name or the "Edit" link that appears below it.
- This will open the comprehensive product editor, where you have access to all the tabs and settings you used when creating the product (General, Inventory, Shipping, Linked Products, Attributes, Variations, Advanced).
- Make your desired changes.
- Click the "Update" button in the "Publish" box on the right-hand side to save all modifications.
Duplicating a Product
Duplicating a product is useful when you need to create a new product that is very similar to an existing one, saving you time on data entry.
- On the "All Products" page, hover over the product you want to duplicate.
- Click the "Duplicate" link.
- WooCommerce will create a new product with the same details as the original, but its status will be set to "Draft."
- You will be redirected to the new draft product's full editor. Make any necessary changes (e.g., product name, SKU, price, images) and then "Publish" it when ready.
Deleting a Product
When a product is no longer needed, you can move it to the Trash.
- On the "All Products" page, hover over the product you want to delete.
- Click the "Trash" link.
- The product will be moved to the Trash. It will not be visible on your storefront but can be restored from the Trash if needed.
- To permanently delete products, go to the "Trash" view (located at the top of the "All Products" page), select the products, and choose "Delete Permanently" from the bulk actions dropdown.
Bulk Editing Products
Bulk editing allows you to apply changes to multiple products simultaneously, which is highly efficient for large stores.
- On the "All Products" page, check the boxes next to the products you want to edit.
- From the "Bulk actions" dropdown menu (located above the product list), select "Edit" and then click "Apply."

Categories and tags help customers navigate your store and find products.
Adding/Editing Categories:
- In the WordPress dashboard, go to "Products" > "Categories."
- You can add new categories, edit existing ones, and organize them hierarchically.
- When editing a product, you can assign it to one or more categories in the "Product categories" box on the right sidebar.
Adding/Editing Tags:
- In the WordPress dashboard, go to "Products" > "Tags."
- You can add new tags or edit existing ones.
- When editing a product, you can assign tags in the "Product tags" box on the right sidebar.
Featuring, Filtering, and Sorting Products
Featuring Products:
- On the "All Products" page, click the star icon next to a product to mark it as "Featured."
- Featured products can be displayed prominently on your shop page or in specific sections using WooCommerce blocks or shortcodes.
