How do I view my email message headers?


Email headers contain essential details about an email's origin, routing, and authentication. Viewing these headers can help diagnose email delivery issues, detect spam, and troubleshoot email-related problems.

Viewing Email Headers in Webmail

  • Roundcube:
    • Log in to Webmail via cPanel.
    • Open Roundcube and select the email.
    • Click the More button (three dots) and choose Show Source.

Viewing Email Headers in Email Clients

  • Microsoft Outlook:
    • Open the email.
    • Click File > Properties.
    • Find the headers in the Internet headers section.
  • Gmail:
    • Open the email in Gmail.
    • Click the three-dot menu (More options) in the top-right.
    • Select Show original.
  • Apple Mail:
    • Open the email.
    • Click View > Message > All Headers.
  • Thunderbird:
    • Open Thunderbird and select the email.
    • Click View > Message Source or press Ctrl + U (Cmd + U on Mac).
