Why You Might Receive an Unexpected Password Reset Email

Recently, we've noticed an industry-wide trend that some of you might be experiencing firsthand. You may receive an unexpected email from our system stating that a password reset has been requested for your account.

First and foremost: please do not worry. This does not mean your account has been hacked or compromised.

Why is this happening?

Automated bots regularly scan the internet and test public website forms, including password reset pages. If a bot enters your email address or username into our "Lost Password" form, our system automatically does exactly what it is supposed to do: it generates a reset email and sends it directly to you.

Because the reset link goes straight to your private inbox, the bot never sees it. Your actual password and personal data remain completely safe and secure on our end.

What you should do:

If you receive a password reset email that you did not explicitly request, simply ignore and delete it. Do not click the password reset link inside the email. As long as you don't click the link, your current password remains unchanged.

What we are doing behind the scenes:

Our team takes security very seriously. We have implemented strict new security measures and firewalls behind the scenes to actively identify and block these automated bots before they can submit the form.

However, we have to carefully balance these filters. If we make them too strict, we risk locking out genuine customers who actually need to reset their passwords. To ensure we don't impede your normal use of the site, a small number of these automated bot requests may still occasionally slip through our defenses.

If you ever have any concerns or questions about your account security, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team. We are always here to help!
