Protected Areas System of Russia
Preserving nature and biodiversity of protected areas is an important goal for humanity. Protected areas make a huge contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). PAs realize 12 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Russia's protected areas make a significant contribution to biodiversity conservation, mitigating the effects of climate change and preserving natural and cultural heritage.
