EmulationStation is a modern, cross-platform front end for emulators and game collections, developed by Leon Styhre. It provides a clean, gamepad-friendly interface that organizes your ROMs, artwork, and metadata across multiple systems, allowing you to browse, filter, and launch games from a single, cohesive library. The software scans your folders, builds collections automatically, and supports themes, video previews, custom collections, favorites, and powerful search and filtering tools. It can fetch box art and game information from online databases and lets you edit metadata directly within the interface. EmulationStation does not include emulators, BIOS files, or game content; you configure it to launch the emulators you choose.

Designed for both the living room and the desktop, EmulationStation runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS, supports controllers and keyboards, and is highly customizable through theme packs and per-system settings. Whether you’re building a couch-friendly setup or managing a large retro library, it offers a fast, reliable, and visually polished hub for your games. Use responsibly and only with content you are legally permitted to play.

EmulationStation is developed by Leon Styhre and is used by 8 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.0. The name of the program executable file is emulationstation.exe.
