What form are your peptides supplied in?
All Elivena peptides are supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, not as a pre-mixed solution. Lyophilization removes nearly all water from the peptide, leaving a stable, porous powder. This dry form is far more stable than a liquid, which protects the compound during shipping and storage until you are ready to use it. Each vial is intended for reconstitution in your own laboratory under controlled conditions. For research use only.
Do peptides need to be shipped cold? Is room-temperature shipping safe?
Room-temperature (ambient) shipping is standard and safe for lyophilized peptides. In their sealed, freeze-dried form, peptides remain stable at room temperature for typical transit windows without measurable loss of purity, which is why they are shipped without ice packs or refrigerated couriers. Cold-chain shipping is not required for dry powder in a sealed vial. The main transit risk is moisture, not heat, and this is controlled by the sealed vial and protective packaging.
Why is moisture more of a concern than heat?
Lyophilized peptides are hygroscopic, meaning they attract water from the air. The dry powder stays stable because almost no water is present, which keeps degradation slow. If moisture enters the vial through a compromised seal or through condensation, it can speed up degradation even at cool temperatures. This is also why stable conditions are better than repeated warming and cooling: temperature swings can cause condensation inside the vial. Keep vials sealed and protected from moisture until use.
How should I store peptides before reconstitution?
Keep the vial sealed and store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and moisture, until you are ready to use it. Room-temperature storage is fine for short-term handling. For longer storage, refrigeration or freezing extends stability further. The most important points are to keep the seal intact and to avoid moisture and repeated temperature swings, both of which protect the powder’s integrity. For batch-specific guidance, refer to the Certificate of Analysis (COA) provided with your order.
How should I store peptides after reconstitution, and how long do they last?
Once reconstituted, store the solution refrigerated at 2–8°C and protect it from light. As a general guideline, use the reconstituted solution within 28 days. Stability after reconstitution depends on the solvent: solutions prepared with a preservative-containing solvent (such as bacteriostatic water) support this multi-week window, while solutions prepared with plain sterile water have no preservative and should be used much sooner. Inspect the solution before each use and discard it if it becomes cloudy, discolored, or shows particles. For research use only.
Should I shake the vial to dissolve the peptide?
No. Shaking introduces air bubbles and physical stress that can damage the peptide structure. Instead, add the solvent gently down the inner wall of the vial and let the peptide dissolve, using a slow swirling motion if needed. Gentle handling preserves the integrity of the compound for reliable research results.
