When Animal Osteopathy Is the Right Fit
This work is often a good option when something doesn't feel right, even if there isn't a clear diagnosis.

Recovery after injury or surgery feels slower than expected

Performance has declined without a clear cause

Your animal resists being saddled, girthed, groomed, or handled in ways they once tolerated

Your animal feels stiff, guarded, or uneven in movement

Behavioral changes that may be linked to discomfort

You've tried rest, training changes, or medication with limited results
Osteopathy does not replace veterinary care; it complements it.

"I have known Ryan for many years in the body building space and he is an animal. His knowledge of the human body is vast and he always gives 100 percent effort. I don't know how many times he has helped me to improve my health. I am excited to see how his business with animals takes off."
Chris Box
"Ryan has made a huge difference in my horses flexibility and general happiness to work. He was stiff to the right and in the pole and after the first adjustment there was a noticeable improvement in bending and movement!! Thanks so much!!"

Frequently Asked Questions
What is animal osteopathy and how does it work?
Animal osteopathy is hands-on therapy that focuses on how your animal’s body moves. When one area is tight or restricted, other areas pick up the slack. Over time, that creates new problems on top of the original one.
Ryan works through the whole body to find where the restriction actually starts, not just where it shows up. He uses gentle, careful techniques to restore normal movement. No forceful manipulation. No sedation. Nothing that works against your animal.
The goal is simple: help the body do what it already wants to do, but can’t.
Is this a replacement for veterinary care?
No, and it’s important to be clear about that. Osteopathy works alongside veterinary care. It does not replace it.
Every animal Ryan works with has a vet. If he finds something during a session that needs veterinary attention, he’ll tell you directly. His job is to support what your vet is already doing and to address what hands-on assessment can find that diagnostics sometimes miss.
If your vet has questions about Ryan’s approach, he’s available for that conversation.
My vet checked everything and found nothing. Can osteopathy still help?
Possibly, and this is one of the most common reasons owners reach out.
A clean vet exam is a good sign. It rules out serious issues. But osteopathic assessment looks at something different: how the body actually moves and compensates in real time. Soft tissue restrictions and guarding patterns don’t always show up on imaging. They show up in how an animal holds itself, loads its limbs, and responds to touch.
If your animal is still off after a clear exam, there may be something in the movement picture worth exploring.
Is osteopathy safe for my animal?
Yes. Every technique Ryan uses is gentle and non-invasive. Nothing is forced. How he works is shaped by your animal’s size, age, temperament, and condition.
If your animal shows discomfort or resistance at any point, Ryan stops and reassesses. Their response during the session is information, not an obstacle.
Most animals settle quickly once the work begins. Some fall asleep.
How is this different from chiropractic or massage?
Both chiropractic and massage have value, but they work differently.
Massage focuses on muscle tissue. Chiropractic focuses on spinal alignment. Osteopathy looks at the whole body as a connected system: joints, soft tissue, fascia, and movement patterns all together. The goal is to trace restriction back to its source, not just treat the area that looks symptomatic.
Simply put, it’s less about applying a technique to a location and more about following what the body is showing you.
How many sessions will my animal need?
It depends on what’s going on, and Ryan will give you a realistic picture after the first session.
Some animals improve significantly after one visit. Others need a short series of sessions to work through a longer-standing pattern. Older animals or those recovering from surgery may benefit from regular maintenance.
What Ryan won’t do is recommend more sessions than your animal actually needs. The goal is your animal’s long-term comfort, not repeat bookings for their own sake.
Where do sessions take place?
Ryan comes to you.
Equine sessions are held at your barn or property. Your horse stays in a familiar environment, which matters when an animal is already uncomfortable.
Canine sessions are conducted at your home. Your dog stays relaxed in their own space, which makes the work more effective and less stressful for everyone.

Do you work with my existing vet, and will they know what happened during the session?
Yes on both.
Ryan works within your vet’s treatment plan, not around it. If you share your vet’s notes before a session, he factors that into his approach.
After each session, Ryan can provide written notes on what he found and what he worked on. If you want those shared with your vet, he’ll send them directly. And if anything he finds warrants a follow-up with your vet, he’ll tell you clearly and specifically what he found and why it matters.
How do I get started?
The first step is an evaluation. Ryan assesses your animal’s movement, identifies where restriction exists, and gives you a clear picture of what he found and what the options are.
There’s no commitment beyond that first session. No packages to buy upfront. No contracts.
If you want to continue after the evaluation, Ryan will recommend a plan based on what your animal actually needs. And if he doesn’t think osteopathy is the right fit, he’ll tell you that too.
No contracts. No guesswork. Just experienced hands.
