Waveshare Barcode Scanner Module – Compact 1D/2D Codes Reader for Embedded and Industrial Devices
The Waveshare Barcode Scanner Module is a compact and efficient 1D/2D code reader that uses an intelligent image recognition algorithm to decode barcodes and 2D symbols quickly and accurately. With onboard USB and UART interfaces, it can be connected directly to a computer or integrated into embedded systems, kiosks, automation equipment and industrial devices.
High-Accuracy Scanning
The scanner supports a wide range of 1D barcodes including Code 39, UPC/EAN and Code 128, as well as 2D codes such as QR, Data Matrix and PDF417. Thanks to the onboard illumination, the module performs reliably even in dark environments and reads codes from paper, labels or screens.

Operation and Technical Insight
The module uses a high-resolution 640 × 980 pixel image sensor and a wide field of view to capture codes efficiently. Practical Notes
