Which calculator do I need to size a motor circuit?
Three steps: (1) Use the Motor FLA Calculator to get the code-required full-load amps for your motor. (2) Use the Wire Ampacity Calculator to pick conductor size for that current at 1.25× margin. (3) Use the Voltage Drop Calculator to verify the run length stays within 3% drop. Add a breaker sized at 2.5× FLA per NEC 430.52.
Which calculator do I need to size a generator?
