Why Sub-GHz Radio Beats Bluetooth for Industrial Vibration Monitoring
At El-Watch, we developed the Neuron Sensor System using a proprietary Sub-GHz wireless radio protocol. Here is why that choice is the key to achieving professional peace of mind and predictable operations.
Neuron Vibration RMS Wake on Shake
Neuron Vibration RMS Wake-on-Shake continuously monitors vibration levels and wakes up when a fixed threshold is exceeded. Once triggered, it measures both vibration RMS level and surface temperature. The sensor includes an embedded magnet for easy installation, and the temperature is measured through this magnetic contact point.

Neuron Liquid Level
The Neuron Liquid Level is a battery-powered wireless sensor designed for accurate monitoring of liquid levels across a wide range of applications.
The pressure sensor is housed in a rugged, compact stainless-steel enclosure and connected via a 5-meter cable to an external radio transmitter.

Frequently asked
questions:
What is a wireless sensor in IoT?
A wireless sensor in IoT (Internet of Things) is a device that detects changes in its environment and communicates this information wirelessly to other devices in a network. These sensors are integral to IoT ecosystems, enabling automated and real-time data collection and analysis for various applications, such as smart homes, industrial automation, and healthcare.
How do wireless IoT sensors work?
Wireless IoT sensors collect data from their environment through various sensing mechanisms, such as temperature, motion, or light sensors. This data is then converted into an electronic format that can be processed. The sensor uses wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, or cellular networks to transmit this data to an IoT platform or directly to other connected devices, which can be further analyzed and utilized for decision-making.
What are the 5 most common IoT sensors?
- Temperature sensors: Monitor heat levels in environments like homes or industrial machines.
- Motion sensors: Detect movement in an area, used in security systems and automated lighting.
- Humidity sensors: Measure the moisture content in the air, which is useful in HVAC systems and agricultural applications.
- Pressure sensors: Used to measure pressure in fluids or gases, common in industrial automation.
- Proximity sensors: Detect the presence or absence of nearby objects, used in mobile devices and car parking assists.
Are IoT sensors always wireless?
No, IoT sensors are not always wireless. While wireless sensors are popular due to their flexibility and ease of installation, wired sensors are also used in IoT applications, especially in industrial environments where high reliability and security are crucial. Wired connections can provide a stable data transfer that is less susceptible to interference and security breaches.
Is IoT a wireless sensor network?
No, IoT is not merely a wireless sensor network; it encompasses much more. While wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are a significant component of IoT, providing the infrastructure for collecting and transmitting data, IoT integrates these data streams into a broader platform that includes data processing, analysis, and application-specific services. IoT aims to create intelligent, interconnected systems that can operate semi-autonomously and make decisions based on real-time data.
How is IoT different from wireless sensor networks?
IoT and wireless sensor networks (WSNs) differ primarily in scope and capability. WSNs are focused on the collection and transmission of data via sensors across a wireless network. IoT extends beyond this by not only incorporating WSNs but also adding layers of data processing, analysis, and integration with various applications and services. IoT systems leverage the data collected by WSNs to perform complex tasks, improve efficiencies, and enable new functionalities across diverse domains such as smart cities, healthcare, and industrial automation.
