Ownership transfer is an app for transferring ownership of a privately owned vehicle without the use of a registration certificate. Both buyer and seller must have the app installed and log in with NemID/MitID. They can then jointly carry out the change of ownership of the vehicle, so that the new owner is registered in the Motor Register.
When both buyer and seller have downloaded the app and logged in with NemID/MitID, the app works in such a way that:
• The seller sees an overview of his vehicles and chooses to start re-registration of the current vehicle. This forms a code that is given to the buyer.
• The buyer sees an overview of his possible vehicles and chooses to add a new vehicle. The code received from the seller is then entered and the applicable vehicle is identified. When the buyer has chosen liability and possibly comprehensive insurance, a fee is paid for the change of ownership of DKK 340. If the buyer already has an agreement with an insurance company, an insurance certificate number can be entered.
• When the change of ownership has been completed, both buyer and seller receive a receipt for the transfer that can always be found in the app.
When you use Ejerskifte, you must be aware that:
• You must be 18 years of age to log in.
• You must have a Danish social security number.
• If there is debt in the vehicle, this is taken over by the new owner. Debt in the vehicle can be checked at tinglysning.dk.
• There must be a valid inspection of the vehicle before it can be re-registered.
• It is a legal requirement to have liability insurance on your vehicle, so this is selected in the app.
• The buyer must pay a fee of DKK 340 to complete the change of ownership.
• It is not possible to specify anyone other than yourself as the primary user of the vehicle. It is also not possible to add secondary users or secondary owners. This information can be changed or added to the Motor Register for a fee of DKK 340.
• Once the code is generated, the buyer has one hour to complete the change of ownership.
