Mining

Mining activities contribute to significant environmental degradation and economic losses to the surrounding communities. In Alaska and the transboundary region of Canada, EIA’s Ocean and Extractives teams work cross-programmatically to fight destructive mining policies and practices that harm both ocean and land ecosystems and threaten the livelihoods of local and indigenous communities.
