EEGLAB is an open-source MATLAB toolbox for processing, analyzing, and visualizing EEG and related electrophysiological data. Developed and maintained by the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience (SCCN) at the University of California San Diego, it offers both an interactive graphical interface and a comprehensive scripting API. EEGLAB supports the full analysis workflow—from data import and preprocessing to advanced methods such as independent component analysis (ICA), event-related potential (ERP) analysis, time-frequency decomposition, and group-level statistics—along with rich, interactive visualizations.
Key features:
EEGLAB is cross-platform (Windows, macOS, Linux) and designed primarily for MATLAB, with partial support in GNU Octave. It is released under a GNU General Public License (GPL). Researchers and practitioners use EEGLAB widely in cognitive, clinical, and translational neuroscience, as well as in mobile and BCI applications.
EEGLAB is developed by SCCN. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 13.2, 15.0 and 22.1. The name of the program executable file is EEGLAB.exe.
