The Future of Events Starts With Its Workforce
Join us as we connect 10,000 voices across education, training, and industry.
Let’s Go from Invisible to Visible
Millions of people make their living in the events industry — yet our workforce remains largely unrecognized, unsupported, and underrepresented. That’s where we come in.
The Events Education & Workforce Development Federation exists to support the people behind the experiences — the professionals, freelancers, vendors, technicians, creatives, producers, and businesses whose work powers events of every kind.
From corporate conferences and festivals to sports, weddings, fundraisers, and political conventions, the events industry fuels local economies and creates careers — yet it lacks a unified voice, clear career pathways, and access to consistent workforce support.
We were founded to change that.
What We Do
We are building a centralized hub that connects people and organizations across the events ecosystem to the resources, education, advocacy, and workforce development tools they need — right now and for the future.
Instead of competing in silos, we bring the industry together.
Through partnerships with allied associations,
educators, employers, and advocates, we:
• Surface existing programs and resources so people can actually find them
• Amplify the good work already happening across the industry
• Create clearer pathways into events careers — and upward mobility within them
• Strengthen the industry’s ability to attract, train, and retain talent.

Workforce Development Opportunities for the Events Industry
Why This Matters
The events industry spans multiple sectors, yet it has never been formally recognized as a unified workforce. By aligning six core event verticals —B2B Events, Personal Events, Fairs & Festivals, Performances, Sports, Political Conventions, and Fundraising —we are laying the groundwork for something transformative: a recognized workforce with standardized career pathways, data, and representation.
That includes working toward:
• Formal workforce classification (including a future NAICS Code)
• Modernized national career cluster frameworks
• Expanded O*NET job definitions that reflect the real jobs people do
This recognition unlocks funding, training programs, policy support, and long-term sustainability for the industry. At our core, our mission is simple: To connect, support, and develop the events industry workforce — together.
When you become a supporter, affiliate, or partner, you’re not just backing an organization — you’re investing in the future of an industry that depends on skilled people to thrive.
