It's that wonderful time of year when the list is set and I get to imagine my dear, devoted writer taking a look at my letter and coming up with something delightful and amazing for me. Please feel free to follow your bliss here! You have my full permission.

I have put my preferred ships, but don't need anything in that regard unless it's precisely your thing. For the younger characters I would prefer it to be pretty chaste, unless you flash forward a bit.

What I love: loyalty, redemption, adventure, found family, bantering, sarcasm, romance and kissing, characters getting themselves into trouble, characters getting themselves into BIG trouble, daddy issues, rebellion, mentoring, arguing, extreme stubbornness, happy endings

What I don't love: Explicit Sex or Sexual Violence. Discussions of suicide. Blatant machismo that doesn't get dealt with quickly. Extreme Alternate Universe.

Dearest Yulegoat!

It is an exciting time of year when I pour over the yuletide tag set and start to get excited about giving and receiving! I want to send a big thank you in advance for indulging me, all the reassurances in the world that I will love what you put together, a shared chuckle at the absurdity of the challenge, and all the yuletide inspiration you need! Take a deep breath! Write what makes you happy and don't sweat these optional details.

I have put my preferred ships, but do not have my heart set on anything in that department so don't feel like you have to make it work if it's not your favorite. For the younger characters I would prefer it to be pretty chaste, unless you flash forward a bit.

What I love: Angst, Strong Female Leads, Complicated Characters with Backstories, Characters Who Do Not Know How to Appropriately Express Emotion, Characters Who Are Extremely Sarcastic, Bromance, Tough Love, Mentoring, Heated Dialogue, Big Emotions, Happy Endings, Unhappy Endings, Companionable Drinking, Symbolism, Holiday-theme, Intrigue, Budding Romance, Banter, Kissing, Grand Gestures, Funny Bits, Flashbacks, Superheroes, Lawmen, Family Time, Eerie Settings... so, lots of things!

Dear Yule Writer,

It is a dark and rainy fall day, but thinking about the yuletide exchange is filling me with good holiday cheer! I’ll be sending you some very positive vibes over the next few months! Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I am very, very excited! I love this exchange, love my shows, and really love passionate, talented writers! Don’t stress! Have fun! I am sure I will LOVE my yuletide gift!

What I Love: Origin and backstories. Superbig emotions. Heroes and anti-heroes. Self-sacrifice and redemption. Badass women. Screw-ups. Straightmen. Mentoring (yes please on lectures, arguments, and estrangement/reconciliation plotlines). Tough love. Indulgent whiskey drinking. Sarcasm. Puppies (not kidding, they are actually the best). Friendship. Kissing. I ship freely and have noted the particular pairings by fandom if you’re interested. I prefer a tasteful fade-to-black, but am happy to indulge the voyeur.

What I Don’t Love: Cruelty (esp. to children and animals). Explicit sex. Suicide. Revenge killing. Machismo. Betrayal. Extreme AUs.
