Edcast Standalone is a lightweight Windows application for live audio streaming. It captures audio from your computer—such as a microphone, line-in, or system mix—and encodes it for real-time broadcast to Icecast or Shoutcast servers. Running independently of any media player, it’s a practical choice for internet radio, live shows, and event broadcasts where stability and simplicity matter.

Key features:

  • Standalone live encoder (no media-player plugin required)
  • Compatible with Icecast and Shoutcast streaming servers
  • Multiple simultaneous streams at different bitrates or formats
  • Flexible input sources: microphone, line-in, or system audio
  • Support for common codecs (e.g., Ogg Vorbis, MP3, AAC) when available
  • Adjustable bitrate, sample rate, and channels
  • Stream metadata updates (title, artist, station info)
  • Auto-reconnect and connection logging
  • Option to record the encoded stream to a local file
  • Simple, resource-efficient interface

Note: Some audio formats (such as MP3 or AAC) may require installing additional codec libraries before use.
