EU Code Week was launched in 2013 by the Young Advisors for the Digital Agenda Europe. The European Commission supports EU Code Week as part of its strategy for a Digital Single Market. In the Digital Education Action Plan the Commission especially encourages schools to join the initiative. The goal is to help more young people to master the basics of coding and computational thinking.
EU Code Week is a grass-roots movement that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. The idea is to make programming more visible, to show young, adults and elderly how you bring ideas to life with code, to demystify these skills and bring motivated people together to learn.
Today, coding is a fundamental part of education worldwide. Coding is not just about learning to write lines of code; it’s about fostering creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration and inclusion. Join us to continue innovating and adapting to ensure that coding education prepares your children and grandchildren not only for the jobs of tomorrow but also for the challenges and opportunities of an ever-evolving digital world!
Follow us to learn about how Emerging Technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing will shape the next generation of coders.
