Who we are

Empowering Community for Self-Sustainability (ECOSS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives in Kikondo, Kalisizo sub-county, Kyotera district, Uganda. We work to uplift vulnerable communities through education, economic empowerment, healthcare, environmental conservation, and advocacy.

With strategic partnerships, including our collaboration with T.u.H. Hoene Stiftung, we implement sustainable solutions to ensure every child, youth, and family has the opportunity to build a better future.

What we do

Our Programs

ECOSS is dedicated to transforming lives through sustainable community-driven initiatives. Our programs focus on education, healthcare, economic empowerment, environmental conservation, and advocacy to create lasting change

Education Support

ECOSS ensures that vulnerable children and youth have access to quality education and vocational training. Through sponsorship programs, provision of scholastic materials, and school infrastructure development, we create opportunities for a brighter future.

Health, Hygiene, and Sanitation

Promoting good health practices is at the core of ECOSS's mission. We create awareness on hygiene and sanitation, construct clean water sources such as shallow wells, and provide health education to improve community well-being.

Environmental Conservation

Sustainability is a key focus of ECOSS, and we actively advocate for environmental conservation. We distribute tree seedlings to communities, promote eco-friendly laws and policies, and conduct awareness campaigns on environmental protection.

Support visits to the elderly in the community

This program aims to care for and support the elderly through regular visits that provide companionship, basic necessities, and emotional comfort. It helps them feel valued, respected, and connected to the community.

Empowering Community for Self-Sustainability (ECOSS)

This program empowers members to start small income-generating projects such as farming or tailoring. It promotes self-reliance, improves livelihoods, and reduces dependency within the community.

Projects

Scholastic materials

Through our partnership with T. u . H Hoenes Foundation, we endavour to support some children with the possible materials available.

School Van

To help children who used to move long distances, saving them them from the risks on the roads, and rain ECOSS together with T. u. H Hoenes provided a school with the Van.

Furniture

ECOSS, in collaboration with T.u.H. Hoene Stiftung, provided essential furniture including desks, chairs, and lockers, ensuring that children have a comfortable and organized space for their studies.

Upcoming Projects

Acquisition of land for Agriculture

We plan to acquire five acres of land to establish a school farm. This will help provide a steady food supply, improve nutrition, and support health among children.

Educational Infrastructure

We aim to construct additional classrooms and offices, dormitories for learners, and a modern kitchen to support feeding and enhance the learning environment.

Sanitation Facilities

Construction of modern washrooms is planned to improve hygiene, reduce health risks, and promote dignity for all learners and staff at the school.

Installation of Solar power

We intend to install solar power to ensure a reliable, clean energy source that supports digital learning and efficient school operations.

Equipment and Technology

To enhance learning and administration, we seek to procure a computer for students and office use, a photocopier, and a printer.

Classroom Furniture

We plan to acquire more desks, tables, lockers, and chairs to accommodate our growing number of pupils and provide a better study environment.
