And it’s going to get worse! Charcoal and firewood are the leading cooking fuels in Africa. Given that 80% of the global population growth this century is expected in Africa, the demand for these fuels will significantly increase. By 2100, it’s anticipated that five of the top ten most populated countries will be African.
