The South Carolina National History Day results are in, and HCS is once again well-represented on the list of winners!
A total of 30 projects submitted by 56 students have ranked in the top three in their categories.
Congratulations to all these outstanding student-historians for addressing this powerful theme in such powerful ways!

Congratulations to Savannah Basile, a senior at Early College High! She has been named the Youth Volunteer of the Year for the 2026 SC Governor's Volunteer Awards. These awards are presented annually to celebrate the vital role volunteers play in advancing South Carolina’s communities.

Horry County Schools’ performance on the 2025 state report cards, based on overall ratings, shows that 38 out of 57 district schools were rated as Excellent or Good. Of those, 16 HCS schools were rated Excellent and 22 were rated Good, while 18 earned a score of Average.
HCS Scholars Academy High School is ranked #1 of all 1,309 schools in the state, earning a report card score of 99.7 out of 100!

Early College High School is the #2 school in Horry County and #12 in the entire state!

All students in Horry County Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
