What is Gen AI?

Generative AI is artificial intelligence technology that uses machine learning algorithms to produce new content. That content can be in the form of text, images, music, code and voice synthesis. It achieves this by combining human-produced data and pattern prediction to generate results. Generative AI tools include ChatGPT, Grammarly and CoPilot (text), Dall-E and Midjourney (images), Amper and MuseNet (music), CodeStarter and Codex (code) and Descript and Listner (voice).  Generative AI is here to stay and will only improve its output quality. Its use in work and study and daily life will only increase, therefore, using generative AI in an ethical way will be an important skill for your studies and career.
