To participate in DubHacks '25, you must be officially registered through our site and have RSVP'd (not just through Devpost)! Check your email for communication from our team.
Prizes
T-Mobile: 5G Challenge
Participants will build AI-driven assistants, broadband apps, or autonomous workflows that integrate with or enhance the T-Mobile's 5G Home Internet product. Each team will be given a Raspberry Pi which simulates T-Mobiles Linux-based gateway device. Using LLMs/SLMs and agentic AI principles, teams should explore how HINT can:
- Simplify and personalize customer experiences
- Automate network insights, device management, or service upgrades
- Create AI-native apps that leverage always-on, high-speed, low-latency 5G connectivity
- Deliver value through AI copilots for households, small businesses, or communities
Top 2 Teams: $2,000 cash or equivalent gift card to each team ($500 per team member, max 4 members).

It's human-centered and fosters belonging, bridge gaps, and unlock personal and collective growth. The Advocate build tools that unite, uplift, and drive positive, lasting change.
VISA - Play, Pay, Repeat: Reinventing Childhood Joy with Modern Payments
The idea is to combine childhood nostalgia (games, toys, allowance systems) with innovative payment solutions (Visa APIs, tokenization, security, digital wallets).
Challenge Question
“How can you reimagine childhood experiences—like allowance, trading cards, or arcade games—using Visa’s payment network to make them secure, fun, and future-ready?”
Requirements:
- Use any open-source or publicly available payment API (e.g., Stripe, PayPal
Sandbox, Square, Razorpay, or mock payment libraries).
- Incorporate gamification or nostalgic elements (e.g., sticker books, piggy banks, board
games).
- Ensure security and inclusivity (parental controls, fraud prevention).

Many aspiring developers are starting their college journeys as well as their coding journeys, brimming with creative ideas, but are still working towards bring their projects to life. The Best Freshman Beginner’s Project awarded by DubHacks is designed to recognize and celebrate exceptional projects created by newcomers to the field. This prize honors a standout project that exemplifies creativity and innovation showcasing the impressive potential of those who are just starting their journey in development.
This track can be entered by teams that consist of Freshmen ONLY.

Statsig Hackathon Challenge: AI That Learns What Works
AI is powerful — but how do you know which model, prompt, or feature actually works best? That’s where Statsig comes in.
Your challenge: Build an AI-powered product that uses Statsig to experiment, personalize, or optimize the experience.
Examples include:
- An AI tutor that experiments with different teaching styles
- A chatbot that adapts its personality using feature flags
- An image or audio AI app that tests multiple enhancement models

Okanagan - Hack the Farm of the Future
Get ready to hack the apple genome and help create the farm of the future. Today’s food system faces unprecedented challenges, and the iconic Washington apple is no exception. Okanagan Specialty Fruits, the developer of the world’s first bioengineered apple, has outlined our vision for the farm of the future in a recent white paper (linked in track description in hacker guide).
In this vision, we must employ the tools of AI and bioinformatics, coupled with the genome hacking tools CRISPR to change the architecture and fruiting behavior of apple trees to be able to fully harness innovations in AI and robotics that will be essential to ensure a resilient food system.
Challenge:
Your challenge is to work as a team to hack into the apple genome using bioinformatics-based data mining and AI to develop a gene editing strategy that will result in the genetic changes needed to realize the apple farm of the future.
Requirements:
Read the Traits & Tech: Designing the Farm of the Future white paper linked in the hacker guide to get started.
Consider getting a head start on your apple hacking strategy by attending the Hack the Farm of the Future Bioinformatics Workshop (recommended but not required).
