About Democratic Socialists of Your Party

DSYP formed from a group of activists seeking to build a truly socialist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, democratic, and unitary version of Your Party. What began with around ten people – brought together by a common vision in the Summer and connected through a series of articles shared across the country – has grown into the start of a national, grassroots campaign, building from hundreds of people across the country interested in this vision, with many working towards it nationally and locally.

Shortly after the launch of the campaign, For a Party Republic, founded by Max Shanly to explore constitutional principles for Your Party, merged with Democratic Socialists. Together we continue to develop a draft constitution that codifies genuine member control and democratic accountability, ensuring leadership remains answerable to the membership rather than to MPs or centralised elites.

Democratic Socialists operate through working groups on local organising, programme, national strategy, communications, and constitutional development. Our purpose is clear: to win a socialist, democratic, and unitary foundation for Your Party, and to help build a political force capable of challenging capitalism and imperialism, building a socialist future.

The party republic – a socialist, democratic, and united working-class party – will not be handed to us. It must be built by us in our workplaces, our streets, and our communities.
