"MIDDLEMARCH" (1994) Review

Many years have passed since I first saw "MIDDLEMARCH", the 1994 BBC adaptation of George Eliot's 1871 novel. Many years. I recalled enjoying it . . . somewhat. But it had failed to leave any kind of impression upon me. Let me revise that. At least two performances left an impression upon me. "LINCOLN" (1974-76) Review

During the first half of the Twentieth Century, poet and historian Carl Sandburg wrote a six-volume biography on the life of the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Years passed before David Wolper ("ROOTS", "THE THORN BIRDS", and the "NORTH AND SOUTH" TRILOGY) produced a six-part miniseries on Lincoln's life and career, based upon Sandburg's work. Nice review, thank you. I think I heard of this biopic when it came out but never caught up with it for some reason. Sounds like a visually appealing, but in some ways bizarre and tenuous spin on…
