Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) & 5G
What is Fixed Wireless Access (FWA)?
Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is a wireless WAN technology delivering ultra-fast internet to fixed locations over the air. It provides broadband connectivity via radio links, enabling rapid, hassle-free deployments in days without the delays and costs associated with fiber installation.
How does FWA differ from wired broadband?
Instead of relying on physical cables, FWA uses wireless signals to connect businesses even in the hardest-to-reach locations. This results in faster installation, greater flexibility, broader coverage, and enhanced cost efficiency. Fixed wireless networks provide performance comparable to wired broadband, fully supporting the demands of modern businesses.
When is FWA better than fiber?
FWA stands as the better choice when businesses need rapid deployments, especially in areas where fiber is unavailable. It delivers scalable, high-speed internet over the air, eliminating the delays and costs of cable installations. It can also serve as a reliable backup to wired networks, ensuring business continuity and minimizing costly outages.
What is the difference between 5G and 5G FWA?
5G is a mobile wireless network developed for devices on the move, while 5G Fixed Wireless Access leverages 5G technology to deliver high-speed broadband to fixed locations, serving as a powerful alternative to fiber connectivity.
What industries benefit most from FWA services?
FWA best suits industries that require fast, high-performance connectivity, especially in areas without fiber access. Key industries include agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, maritime, security, media, and IoT & M2M deployments.
Load Balancing & Hybride connectivity
What is load balancing?
Traffic distribution across multiple connections to improve performance and prevent outages.
Why is internet load balancing beneficial?
Internet load balancing can greatly help to improve performance by evenly distributing traffic and requests, which also prevents servers from being overwhelmed and experiencing potential outages. Among other benefits, there is the ability to scale the pool to more effectively handle the load, traffic management to give preferences to a certain type of traffic based on specific criteria, etc.
Does Internet load balancing increase Internet speed?
Internet load balancing itself doesn’t directly increase internet speed, but it evenly distributes traffic across multiple servers, preventing servers from becoming overwhelmed, which, in turn, results in faster response times and improved user experience.
What equipment is needed for load balancing?
Load balancing requires such core components as a load balancer, servers, network switches, firewalls, and monitoring tools.
What are the common load-balancing algorithms used?
The load-balancing routers distribute incoming traffic based on such common load-balancing algorithms as round robin, which ensures all servers get an equal share of work; least connections, which directs traffic to the servers with the fewest active connections; and weighted distribution, which distributes traffic based on the assigned weights of each server.
What should be considered when selecting a load-balancing algorithm?
In order to select the best-fitted load-balancing algorithm, analyze your traffic, make sure the algorithm effectively monitors the health of servers, take into account your scalability requirements, and ensure this algorithm is supported by your load balancer, etc.
Do you utilize internet load balancing for maritime internet solutions?
Yes, we implement an internet load-balancing approach across all our maritime connectivity solutions, including WiFi for yachts and WiFi cruise ships.
What is a hybrid connectivity solution?
Hybrid connectivity combines multiple network technologies, such as cellular (4G/5G), fixed broadband, and satellite into one resilient solution. It intelligently routes traffic across available links, enables automatic failover if one connection drops, and ensures continuous, optimized performance
Why choose hybrid connectivity?
This approach increases uptime through automatic failover, optimizes performance by dynamically routing traffic over the best available network, and ensures broader coverage in remote or challenging environments. It also enhances cost-efficiency by balancing traffic across different links and provides greater flexibility and scalability for businesses that require reliable, uninterrupted connectivity across various locations and use cases.
