Dr. Phillips was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He graduated Pepperdine University in Malibu, California with a degree in Sports Medicine where he was selected as Sports Medicine Student of the Year for his graduating class.  He received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas in 2008.  Dr. Phillips completed five years of general surgery residency at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi before completing a three-year plastic surgery residency in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston before completing residency training in general surgery at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. She then continued with a fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
