DragonHacks 2019 is the best 24-hour hardware-focused hackathon event hosted by Drexel University IEEE on April 20th - 21st 2019 in the Bossone Research Enterprise Center. DragonHacks 2019 is bringing in the brightest minds of the world's best schools to spend 24 hours to create groundbreaking new products from scratch!
We will have more than enough East coast exclusive food and caffeine to energize hungry and excited hackers. With an amazing pool of prizes this year, your sleepless efforts will be rewarded!
Hacking begins at 2 PM Saturday, January 20th right after the 1 PM opening ceremony and ends at 2 PM Sunday, January 21st. You must submit your project to Devpost. In order to be eligible for prizes, you also must participate in the Sunday judging.
Eligibility
- Individuals must be 18 years old or older
- You must be at DragonHacks to work on a project for submission
- Teams must not exceed a group of 5 Members
- Please show your ID at registration
- You cannot work on your project before the event begins
- You cannot steal another team's source code
- The decision of judges is final for determining prizes and awards
- Please comply with all instructions from the volunteers
- List your universities when you submit
- Submit your team name and/or number
Prizes
DragonHacks 2019 - Grand Prize
The Grand Prize will be given to the team with the best overall hack. Each member of the winning team will have 1st choice of prizes from the prize pool
DragonHacks 2019 - 2nd Place
The second place prize will be given to the first runners-up. Team members will have the 2nd choice of prizes from the prize pool.
DragonHacks 2019 - 3rd Place
The third place prize will be given to the second runners-up. Team members will have the 3rd choice of prizes from the prize pool.
Organizers' Choice Award
The Organizers' Choice Award will be given to the team organizers deem the best. Team members will have the 4th choice of prizes from the prize pool.
Best Use of Google Cloud Platform
Google Home Mini for each member in the winning group!

Best Hack/Website on .TECH Domain
TECH Category Prize of Amazon Gift Voucher of $200 for the team that hosts the best hack / project on a .TECH domain
MLH - Best Domain Registered with Domain.com
Register a domain using Domain.com during the weekend. Each team may submit one entry per person on the team. Each winning team member will receive a Raspberry Pi & PiHut Essential Kit.
MLH - Best IoT Hack using a Qualcomm Device
Use a Qualcomm device, like the Dragonboard 410C, in your IoT project. Each winning team member will receive their own DragonBoard 410C.
MLH - Best Use of Blockstack
Create an app using the Blockstack Platform. Each winning team member will receive a pair of Apple BeatsX Earphones, max 4 per team. The opportunity with Blockstack doesn't end with the event. Any app built with Blockstack during a hackathon that successfully registers for the App Mining program within two weeks of the event will receive an additional $500 reward.
MLH - Best use of Transposit
Only 24 hours to create your project? No problem, Create an app and compose different APIs together with the worlds first API composition platform, Transposit. Each winning team member will receive a $50 Amazon gift card, max per team.
