Annual Diocesan Appeal 2024

Fr. John-Michael Lavelle has been emailing updates on individual parishes’ performance on the Appeal. This information information is also posted at www.doydevelopment.wpengine.com/appeal under “Parish Toolkit and Updates.”

“It’s hard to believe that summer is moving as quickly as it is. This time next week we will be entering the month of August and before we know it, Back to School, Labor Day, and Football games will fight for our attention. Although the summer is a more quiet time, we continue to work diligently in reaching our goal of $4,000,000 for the 2024 Annual Diocesan Appeal: One in Hope, One in Mission. As of this morning, we have reached the 92% mark, with pledges and gifts totaling $3,682,415. This is from 11,844 households. This is a wonderful benchmark for the end of July.

We are very optimistic about two upcoming mailings and the possibility that together, they will allow us to reach the $4,000,000 goal. This would be outstanding! Additionally, it is worth noting that we have received 495 responses from 55 parishes through the “pastor letter” sent by pastors directly from our parishes. This has resulted in an additional $73,251. If you are a parish that has not yet done this mailing, it is not too late! The people on this list are not in the groups receiving the August or September mailings, so there is no conflict in receiving duplicate mailings.

It has been several years since I have been this hopeful of our ability to achieve the $4,000,000 mark – but it is very much in our reach this year. Thank you for all you are doing to promote and support the Annual Diocesan Appeal. Keep up the great work, encourage whatever pledges and gifts possible, and together, we will accomplish a wonderful response in serving the poor among us and furthering the mission of the Church.
