We happily welcome walk-ins and offer same-day appointments if availability permits.
How early do I need to book?
The earlier you book, the better! Our appointments fill up quickly, so booking in advance ensures you get a time that works best for you.
Can I tip my stylist/hairdresser?
Tips are always appreciated, but not expected.
Why do stylists charge different prices for their services?
Stylist charges are based on the expertise they bring, including industry experience and level of advanced education and training. This does not mean you won’t receive excellent service from any stylist. You are welcome to request a stylist within your preferred price range.
Will I receive a reminder prior to my appointment?
Absolutely! We’ll send you a reminder via text or email—whichever you prefer—48 hours before your appointment, unless you’ve unsubscribed.
Refund Policy
Gift cards are non-refundable. Products may be returned within 90 days if at least half full and with a receipt. Returns without receipt receive store credit. Professional tools returned within 30 days may receive a full refund. After 30 days, refer to the warranty inside the package.
What if I’m running late?
If you’re a few minutes late, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. However, if you arrive too late for us to provide the service or if all slots are filled, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
What is the cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. A one-time exception is offered for last-minute changes. Subsequent late cancellations or no-shows may require a credit card on file, and repeated violations may result in being charged the full service cost.
What credit and debit cards do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay
Do you charge for consultations?
Our consultations are always complimentary.
Can I request a specific service provider?
Yes! Just let us know when booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
How Do I Find the Right Hair Stylist for Me?

Define Your Hair Goals
Know what you want—or find a stylist who can help you decide.

Look at Their Work
Browse websites or social media to find stylists who consistently create the look or vibe you’re going for.

Consider Your Budget
Salons often offer tiered pricing. Newer stylists may cost less but may have less experience.

Check for Personality Fit
If connecting with your stylist is important, look at their social posts or bios to learn more about them.

Ask Around
If you admire someone’s hair, ask where they got it done—it’s one of the best ways to find great local talent.

Get a Recommendation
Not sure where to start? Call or visit a nearby salon and ask for a stylist recommendation based on your desired look.

What is an undercut?
  • An undercut is a haircut style where sides & back of head/neck are cut very short (buzzed) and hair on top is left longer.
  • Can be worn bold by tying up longer hair, or hidden by wearing hair down
  • Can be customized to have a design or pattern cut into it or colored with hair color for a bolder look
  • Good for people looking for an edgy haircut or guests with very thick hair. (can help keep you cooler in warm months)
What is a blowout (hair)?
  • Professional salon service that gives you a polished, smooth look with volume/soft curls or smooth and sleep (depending on desired outcome)
  • Typically includes relaxing shampoo, conditioner and blow-dry using various brushes for styling
  • Uses professional salon products – blowout can last longer
  • Can be done regularly so you don’t have to do your own hair, can be utilized as a relaxing/uplifting treat to yourself or can be booked ahead of a special occasion or big event
  • All Douglas J blowouts come with a relaxing scalp massage before the shampoo
  • A consultation is done ahead of time to assess what final look you are going for and how long the style needs to last
  • A good way to try out different styles or different hair products before purchasing them or for getting tips on how to style your hair at home
What product lines do you offer?
We offer Aveda, Back-of-Bottle (BOB), and Oribe products.
What Is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a non-invasive skincare treatment designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin—customized to your unique concerns. Using vortex-fusion technology, this multi-step service removes impurities and delivers targeted serums for improved texture, tone, and hydration.

HydraFacials can help address:

  • Congestion and clogged pores

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Enlarged pores

  • Pigmentation

  • Overall hydration

This treatment can be performed on the face, body, lips, eyes, and even the scalp—with zero downtime.

What is the difference detween a facial and a HydraFacial?

Both treatments are designed to improve your skin’s health and glow, but they work a little differently.

  • Facial: A customized treatment using products and techniques tailored to your skin type—great for relaxation, hydration, and cleansing.

  • HydraFacial: A high-tech facial that uses suction and serums to cleanse, exfoliate, and infuse moisture deep into the skin for an instant glow and smoother texture.

Think of a HydraFacial as the next level up in results and rejuvenation.

What is Botox?

Botox is an FDA-approved treatment that temporarily relaxes facial muscles to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles—especially around the forehead, eyes, and mouth. It’s a quick, non-surgical option with minimal downtime, helping you achieve a refreshed, natural look. Learn more.

What are the benefits of Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution for smooth, hair-free skin by targeting hair follicles with light energy. Over time, it reduces hair growth—saving you from the hassle of shaving or waxing. It’s safe for most skin types and works best in a series of treatments for lasting results.

What’s a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skincare treatment that uses a blend of exfoliating acids to remove dull, damaged skin cells. The result? Brighter, smoother, and more even-looking skin. Peels can also help minimize fine lines, acne scars, and sun damage—with varying strengths to match your skin’s needs.
