Travel in and around Dothan and Houston County is easy. You can be just about anywhere in 15 minutes, and when it becomes necessary to travel long distances, you will be glad that all roads lead back to Dothan.
Ideally situated in the southeast corner of Alabama, about 20 miles from the Florida and Georgia borders, Dothan boasts an enviable accessibility to travel destinations north, south, east and west. You can be in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains by driving three hours north to Birmingham, or head for the sugar white beaches of Panama City, Florida, a short 78-mile drive south.

Transportation by rail or water is also available in the Dothan area with rail service provided by CSX, Genessee and Wyoming (Bayline Railroad), and the nine-foot channel on the Chattahoochee River that offers access to the Intracoastal Waterway.
