The DOTA 2 MOBA is one of Valve's most successful games and one of the most popular games in Steam since its beginnings. Initially created as a Warcraft III mode, it is now a totally independent game. The story repeats itself with DOTA Underlords, a spin-off that was born as a game mode and it is now its own entity.
The game, unlike its predecessor, is slower paced and it's divided into two different phases: the first one is all about deploying your troops on a grid. You'll have to pay special attention where you locate each one because depending on where you place them and the heroes next to you, you'll get different effects that could decide the battle's fate. The second part lets you witness the action because both teams will fight amongst each other automatically.
Every time a combat ends and depending on the final result, you'll earn coins that you can invest in upgrading your troops or simply acquiring new ones. Such progression will reflect in the ranking which will change as you continue winning battles. This gaming experience is indeed halfway between the strategic techniques used in chess and the more than 1,000 different magical combinations during the battles.
The game is a multiplatform as well as cross-platform. That means that you can play differently in the Android and PC versions, available through Stream. As a matter of fact, if you want to participate in online combats, you'll have to be registered in the Valve platform and enter your access credentials.
