Your Dog Training Questions Answered

Find answers to the most common questions about our dog obedience training services, programs, and techniques—designed to help you and your dog succeed together.

It’s never too early to start! Puppies can begin training as young as 8 weeks old. Early training helps establish good habits, socialization skills, and a strong foundation for future learning. Don’t worry if your dog is older; it’s never too late to teach them something new.

Yes, we work with dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior. As experienced behavior counselors, we assess each dog individually to understand the underlying causes of their aggression. From there, we develop a personalized plan to help them respond in calmer, more appropriate ways. Safety, compassion, and mutual respect are always at the heart of our approach.

Yes, we train all breeds, sizes, and temperaments! Whether you have a high-energy herding breed or a laid-back companion dog, our training programs are tailored to meet the needs of every pup.

No matter the breed, our methods are designed to help every dog thrive. If your dog isn’t on the list, don’t worry—we’re here for all dogs, purebred or mixed!

We use a balanced training approach that incorporates both rewards and fair, well-timed corrections to clearly communicate with your dog. This means we reinforce good behavior while also addressing unwanted behavior using proven tools and techniques suited to your dog’s needs. Our methods may include leash pressure, e-collar conditioning, or other forms of guidance alongside tools like food, praise, or play. Every training plan is customized to your dog’s temperament and your goals, ensuring a clear, consistent, and respectful learning process.

Yes. We regularly work with families and children as part of our dog training programs. In most cases, private dog training sessions are the best fit for households with kids, as they allow us to tailor the training to your family’s lifestyle and provide one-on-one guidance. However, families can also benefit from our group dog training classes and board and train programs. Whether you’re looking for basic obedience training or help with behavioral issues, we’ll make sure everyone in your home feels confident and involved in the process.

Yes. We offer dog training programs tailored to senior citizens and individuals with mobility challenges. Our trainers take the time to understand your needs and adjust each session to match your physical abilities and goals. Whether you choose private dog training, group classes, or a board and train program, we’ll ensure the training methods are practical, accessible, and supportive. We’re here to help you build a strong, manageable relationship with your dog, regardless of age or mobility.

Yes. We offer weekend availability for several of our dog training services. Many of our group dog training classes are held on weekends to better fit your schedule, and our board and train program also operates over the weekend. While private sessions are typically scheduled on weekdays, weekend options may be available depending on your location and trainer availability. Contact us to learn more about current openings for weekend dog training.

Ongoing support is a key part of our dog training programs. After your initial sessions, we’re here to answer questions, reinforce progress, and help you work through new challenges as they come up. Depending on the program you choose, support may include follow-up sessions, phone or email check-ins, refresher training, or access to group classes. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident continuing your dog’s training at home — with professional guidance just a call or message away.
