GETTING HERE

Location

Located about 30 miles west of Juneau, Doc Warner’s lodge is situated along Southeast Alaska’s Home Shore, a well-known congregating area for Salmon on their way to spawn. To the west, the Fairweather Range, part of the St Elias mountain range, is
visible. On a clear day, you can see the snow-capped peaks rising to 15,300 feet (4663 meters). Glacier Bay National Park is just 12 miles to the west of Doc Warner’s.

As part of the Inside Passage, known for its calm waters, Icy Strait is where you’ll spend your time fishing and watching wildlife. Icy Strait separates the mainland, where Doc Warner’s is located, from Chichagof Island. Pleasant Island, a landmark you’ll become
familiar with, is located on the north end of the strait. To the west, there are several barrier islands which make for calm navigable waters for even the most novice.

Getting Here

Doc Warner’s guests make their own reservations to fly into the Juneau, Alaska
International Airport. Members of the Doc Warner’s team will meet you at the airport on Sunday afternoon. Guests then take a brief ride to the harbor to board the catamaran.

The catamaran ride is an approximately two-hour comfortable journey through a small portion of the Inside Passage. The journey goes south on Lynn Canal, which is the 3 rd deepest fjord in North America at over 2,000 ft deep (610 meters). It then turns north at Couverden Island, where our early guests camped for several years. When you arrive at tthe lodge, there is a hot dinner waiting.
