iRecord
Intended Audiences: Vice County Recorders
These pages contain initial documentation on verifying plant records on the iRecord website. iRecord is a website for sharing wildlife observations. See the Introduction to iRecord for more information.
Verification on iRecord is undertaken by local or national experts such as vice-county recorders or taxon referees. Permissions to undertake iRecord verification are managed by UKCEH. To discuss becoming a verifier please contact your Country Officer (see list here).
Records from iNaturalist are imported into iRecord once they pass a set of checks. Such records can be verified on iRecord and this process is the same as for records entered via iRecord. Directly reviewing records on iNaturalist is outside the scope of this guidance.
National Plant Monitoring Scheme (NPMS) records can also be verified via the iRecord website. Guidance on NPMS verification is available here.
A video recording covering iRecord verification is available on the BSBI YouTube channel.
