Oh Dear Me

I have finished my first semester at college. Its been a lot of fun but still hard with full time work to contend with.
My first assignment was 7 weeks long so the fact that I was off work for 6 weeks because of the accident was a blessing in disguise.

I'm excited about the next semester.

I've had a few hairy moments on the bike. But a Merc took the cake one day when we both entered a double lane roundabout and he steered into my lane to exit, cutting me off and nearly ran me up the back of a parked car.

"OK, I need a camera ASAP because some blind twat in a Merc is going to kill me"

Since strapping a camera to the side of my helmet I've noticed a many amusing thing in my daily commute.

I've also noticed the sketchiest drivers on the road own a Ford.

I've also put my observations up on YouTube.

I've also ordered a microphone to go with the footage.

This should keep me amused for a while.

This only takes about 15 minutes.
I'm all about quick meals. Anything more than 30 minutes and I'd rather starve.

This is why it's important to have the proper gear when on a motorbike.
It was only a boot scrape from hanging the bike too low through a roundabout but if I was in squid gear I would have lost the front of my shoe and broken a toe or two.

As a kid growing up, I've had a few of these. Hāngīs are extremely healthy - except perhaps the fried bread - as the food is steamed with the heated rocks and wet fabrics.
With the large New Zealand population on the Gold Coast, this tradition is carried on here in Australia. Waitāngi Day is even celebrated here which presents traditional Māori culture, dancing, greetings and the food.
We are lucky to have a takeaway called The Hangi Pit. We can have hāngī any day of the week.

OMGosh I've had this thing 13 years today.....
The only thing older than that is a hat my brother gave me for a birthday.

I finally decided to get a bike about 7 weeks ago being that they are cheaper to run, cheaper to insure, and great through traffic.
I love driving, but I do not like being stuck in traffic for long. Problem solved.

Every day is a fun lesson. When I was a kid, I was fanging it around the farm on a 200cc trail bike. Now I'm dealing with other people on a 650cc road bike AND I have to wear a helmet and protective gear.
