All developers have their favorite tech. Often, they discover one way that works and then tend to stick to the tried-and-true whenever possible. In that regard, we are no different. What sets us apart is our desire to approach all situations as bias-free as possible. Technology choices are made for a variety of reasons and having an attitude of “our favorite is better” is not always helpful. We pride ourselves that we’ll go wherever our client’s best interests lead us. It’s a common situation that we may get hired by one company for our existing knowledge in .NET or HubSpot, but then get pulled into a project using WebSphere or FileMaker Pro. Assisting customers maintain systems that they already have in place and getting the most out of a previous investment is an important part of our job. And learning something new is what keeps our job fun.
