Digital solutions to accelerate battery testing
DigiBatt is a 3 year, Horizon EU project which will combine state-of-the-art digital technology with advanced physical testing workflows to make battery testing faster, cheaper and more accurate.
Over the next project we aim to reduce testing time by 30 % and reduce testing cost by 20 % by creating tools which allow us to extract more value from fewer tests.
As far as possible our tools will be open-source and freely available for the battery community.

Standardise

Automate

Accelerate!
In DigiBatt we will develop:
- Standardised data formats which are readable by human and machine
- Automatic triggering of virtual and physical tests
- Accelerated virtual testing methods and intelligent design of experiments

Our aims
30 % Reduction in battery testing times
20 % Reduction in battery testing costs
Digital Toolbox
We plan to achieve our aims by developing an open-source, multiscale, digital toolbox.
Open-source means our tools will be accesible to the whole battery community for free.
Multiscale means we will produce tools for testing batteries from cell scale up to whole system scale.

Who are we?
The DigiBatt consortium is comprised of a wide range of stakeholders from researchers, battery manufacturers, battery testers and battery system integrators. It brings together world-leading institutions, who have the capacity to make the DigiBatt vision a reality.
DigiBatt’s collaborative approach and its commitment to digital innovation means it will be crucial in advancing battery technology for the benefit of all of Europe.
