DianCai is a ChineseEnglish dictionary for people who just want to look up menu items that are commonly found on a Chinese menu. Enter a menu item in either English, Chinese or pinyin to reveal its Chinese, English and pinyin translation.The following example search will return--SEARCH--> >shuizhuniurou(no space)>Beef in Hot SaucePinyin and English input can done with the default English keyboard however to use character recognition you must install either the simplified or traditional Chinese keyboard.----------------------------------------------From Concept...While on a train from Chengdu to Beijing I discussed with some friends I met while studying at BNU the concept of a dictionary that is used to look up items commonly found on a Chinese menu.We all agreed that some electronic dictionaries did not contain items commonly found on a Chinese menu or they did but it was too hard to filter out results not of interest. We wanted a way to easily look up an unrecognized item on a Chinese menu by simply entering the first character and be presented with a list of menu items that start with that character.To ProductThe dictionary only contains about 40 entries but will be updated upon the next release.
