How does this process work?
Hiring a copywriting or content marketing coach shouldn’t be overwhelming — the whole point is to save you time! — so I keep this process streamlined and easy peasy for both of us.
Marketing coaching: If you’d like to book a one-hour marketing coaching call, easily do so here with Calendly.
Content & copywriting services: If you’d like a quote for my services à la carte or on retainer:
- Step 1: Complete the form below to request a quote.
- Step 2: If I think we’re a good fit, I’ll send you a Calendly link so you can pick a 15-minute time slot for us to hop onto Zoom for a free discovery call to discuss your goals and content marketing needs. If you’d prefer, you can send me all the details via email, Discord, or gchat instead. (As an introvert, I get it!)
- Step 3: I’ll send you a quote.
- Step 4: If all looks good, I’ll shoot you a contract, you’ll sign, and I’ll get to work. For à la carte projects, I take a 50% deposit at signing and 50% upon delivery. For retainer packages, I accept monthly payments.
- Step 5: For coaching services, I’ll provide a detailed writeup of recommendations in Google docs you can make in-line comments and ask questions right in the doc. For content optimization services, I’ll send a draft of all deliverables in Google docs you can make in-line comments and edits right in the doc.
- Step 6: For coaching services, we’ll do one round of Q&A. For content optimization services we’ll do one round of feedback and edits, and I’ll deliver a final draft in whatever form suits the content (PDF, PowerPoint, layered Photoshop file, etc.).
For optimization projects, how long will it take to receive the deliverables?
That depends on whether you’ve purchased my services à la carte or on retainer.
If à la carte, it will depend on the scope of the project and my availability, and we will agree to my deadline(s) at the start of the project. I add projects to my schedule on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if timing is a factor for you, please reach out to inquire on my availability ASAP.
If on retainer, we will have agreed to a content optimization delivery schedule at the start of the 6- or 12-month retainer, and I will adhere to my deadlines.
If some health or family emergency crops up, I will always communicate with you ASAP and keep you informed. I believe communication is crucial in any business relationship, and I will never go MIA unless a legitimate health crisis makes it impossible for me to respond.
Should I hire you or a marketing firm?
That depends on your marketing needs and what you’re equipped to tackle in-house. If you’re looking for a full-service provider that writes your content for you or also handles CMS > CRM > analytics integrations, technical SEO, social media marketing, video marketing, email marketing, workflow management, or marketing operations, I’m probably not the best fit for your needs.
But if you’re looking strategic guidance and content optimization from a wordsmith with more than a decade of experience specializing in content marketing, lead generation, and technical writing at companies like HubSpot and BookBub, I’m your gal. I will empower you and your team to craft more effective content, which are skills you’ll take with you to future projects and throughout your career.
Also, I’m in HubSpot’s alumni network and have easy access to loads of other marketing professionals who will be able to tackle other aspects of your marketing needs. Once I’m your content marketing consultant, I can help hook you up with the right people for any marketing task you need help with!
I saw someone on LinkedIn say websites are obsolete because of AI. Is that true?
No, websites are not obsolete.
- Even if people search via LLMs, they’ll ultimately land on your website to learn more and purchase.
- Your website content needs to be optimized so the LLMs scrape and regurgitate the information you want their users to see.
- Lead magnets are still an extremely effective way to grow your mailing list, which gives you a direct line of communication to your prospects.
Anyone claiming AI is turning websites obsolete is either (1) trying to sell you an AI product (2) engagement baiting. Websites and the rise of AI usage are not mutually exclusive. Just like how social media didn’t render websites obsolete. Any business—especially B2B businesses—should have a website!

How many rounds of Q&A or revision will you do?
My standard content marketing consulting terms for both à la carte and retainer projects include one round of Q&A (for coaching) or one round of feedback (for optimization) for my implementation. You’re absolutely welcome to request more than one round—just please let me know up-front, and I’ll adjust your project scope and quote accordingly!
Will I own copyright of the content you create for me?
For the most part, you’ll always own the copyright, since I mostly do optimization projects, so you would have created the first draft. If I’m packaging your content into a new offering—e.g., using five of your blog posts as fodder for an ebook—you’ll of course retain the copyright of the blog posts all along, and you’ll own the copyright of the ebook I create for you upon final payment.
What kinds of companies do you prefer working with?
B2B is my specialty, and I have the most experience in publishing, SaaS, and marketing as a service, but I’ve worked with companies in a wide range of industries. During my time as an Inbound Marketing Consultant at HubSpot, I coached 50+ companies ranging from a hotel in the Berkshires to TEFL certification to trucking technology to a fitness brand that appeared on Shark Tank!
Do you use AI?
I do not use AI to generate content—consider me a retro human marketer!—but I keep up with best practices to optimize website content for AI so your prospects who search using LLMs will find the correct information about you (within the limits of control you have over AI’s hallucinations, at least). Honestly, it’s not all that different from optimizing for search, but I keep up with trends in case that changes.
