The Alchemist: Home

Introduction

In this project, your group will have the option to create:

  • a stop-motion video describing assigned chapters from The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo.
  • a flannel presentation
  • a traditional video in which your group will take on different character roles.

All options must include a storyboard explaining your chapters. You can view a sample here.

This guide provides guidelines for the project.

Make sure to use the script to complete your storyboard. Decide which pieces you will need to tell your part of the story.

Use the guide to familiarize yourself with using felt material to create pieces that can be used to tell a story.  You can view a quick sample made by the librarians.

Stop Motion Video

If you choose to create a stop-motion video, your first step is to complete the storyboard (requirement). This will help you when planning your video. You can use this script to map out your story. The library can help supply:

  • tripods
  • whiteboards & markers
  • phone devices with Stop Motion Studio loaded
  • iPad with Stop Motion STudio loaded
  • microphones
  • green screen backdrop
  • lights
  • some general art supplies

If you want to use your personal devices, make sure to download Stop Motion Studio (free version) and use the software when creating your project.

If you need inspiration these are a variety of stop-motion examples from groups in Spanish V 23-24.

Video

You can use WeVideo to film and edit your video. You can reserve time in the Video Production Room (VPR) by contacting one of the librarians.

We recommend installing  a teleprompter before scheduling time in the VPR, which allows you to put your script on a screen, and it will scroll, allowing you to read while recording.

Option 1) Teleprompter Mirror - Just paste your script, adjust the font and speed, and press play.

Option 2) Add the TellyPrompt Chrome Extension to turn your Chromebook into a teleprompter.
