What it does
SumX is a Chrome extension that summarizes text and generates citations. It helps users quickly understand articles and create formatted citations.
What I learned
Successfully built a functional extension with summarization capabilities, integrated it with the backend API, and provided a user-friendly interface, learned how to integrate APIs with Flask, build Chrome extensions, and handle backend/frontend communication effectively.
What's next for SumX
Next steps include improving citation generation and keyword highlight with more optimized model, handling more edge cases, and adding advanced features like keyword extraction and citation customization.
