SchoolBoard is a web application that aims to unite students to share knowledge and socialize, alleviating stress and improving their mental health!

Academic Mastery Made Accessible:

At BCIT, the fast-paced environment often leaves students grappling to fully comprehend complex concepts, leading to stress and feelings of falling behind. Our solution? A comprehensive platform where students can seek assistance from peers across all terms and programs. No longer confined to the limited knowledge of immediate classmates, our app empowers students to tap into a vast network of expertise, bridging gaps in understanding and boosting academic confidence.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints and allocated organization of work was one of the biggest challenges we ran into. We ended up crunching a lot of bug fixing and presentation elements towards the end of the hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are all proud of the application we developed in such a short amount of time. A working application with high quality user interfaces. We are all first time hackathon participants so we all shared the same level of excitement of our work and appreciating watching the collaborative growth of our application.

What we learned

We learned the extent of our capabilities and what we can achieve in a short amount of time. The pressure and the excitement of the event really squeezed out the best we could do and displayed our efforts in an application where we all can be proud of. This event really drove us to become better developers.

What's next for SchoolBoard

Additional bug fixing, more future-proof and established database systems, and new features to enhance users connectability such as real time chatting.
