Inspiration

I have chronic kidney disease and I always look for healthy foods. In general, the restaurants most committed to sustainability are the best. Hence the project idea.

What it does

SaniChain is a methodology that helps people who want to eat healthily find restaurants that promote menus that are friendly to them, with low carbon consumption, and traceable.

How we built it

I used the Guardian Service and mainly consulted several other existing methodologies.

Challenges we ran into

There were two:

• Understand the ecosystem: I have a strong background in the Celo blockchain, but I didn't know the Hedera environment and it has very different characteristics
• Understand methodologies such as Verra

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have a wellness startup and I was proud to see that I created a project that has a lot to do with my current business.

What we learned

Many things, but mainly in relation to the methodology and policies for carbon credit retention and compensation

What's next for SaniChain

I will develop the marketplace which is the front end where the user offsets the carbon credit and receives the discount coupon. I will add it as a new branch of my current business
