Inspiration
My inspiration for this game was from a variety of sources. One of these was a book I read called Good Girl's Guide to Murder. In addition, I love to play parkour games and escape rooms for fun which is why I chose to include some of these elements into my game.
What it does
A game built with Unity that allows people to go around the house finding obscure clues, and once they find all the clues, they are able to participate in the parkour to ultimately interact with the suspect button and submit the answer.
How we built it
This game was built using Unity, C#, and Blender. Development process: 1.Started brainstorming ideas 2. Started creating assets and art 3. Coded the basic features 4. Coded more detailed and complex features and elements
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges I ran into were making some of the assets, working with the UI, and coding the player pick up and drop.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I was able to successfully implement the player pick up and drop and the parkour. I am also proud that I was able to fix all of the bugs in the game. Another accomplishment I am proud of is adding sound effects to my game. They really enhanced the feel of my game.
What we learned
I learned a lot about Unity and C#. This is my first time creating a game in Unity, so it was a great learning experience to work with the assets and the UI.
What's next for Parkour Detectives
I hope to incorporate more levels and features into my game, make the UI better, and incorporate multiplayer options.
